I thought about this story as I tried to put together this post, a one little word check-in as the sun begins to set on I love having my students write the books themselves, and usually "translate" under their words. The children could color the crayon their favorite color and print the color word on it.
When students are required to write independently, they should also be given a guide in which they can refer to in terms of letters and their corresponding sounds and correct letter formation. At this station, I do encourage correct spelling of both sight words and vocabulary words.

I will keep looking for ways to be happy in my life and to make others around me happy, too. On Wednesday, we practice reading, finding, writing and stamping our sight word.
Finally, they write the sentence on the line and draw a picture to match. They could also write about an exciting experience they had on the field trip to the zoo. The children can write and draw or they can use words printed on each picture to use as a model as displayed in the photograph.

Zoo Theme The children would color and assemble the lion or hippopotamus writing templates. The twelve activities are repeated for every theme so that the task only has to be taught once. The children could also be provided with a template to complete their own sentence where they would be required to fill in a word could be a sight word.
